About Teach This

WHO WE ARE? What We do? Why we Do it?

Teach This is a team of Aussie teachers, designers, illustrators and writers. Since 2007, we’ve helped hundreds of thousands of school teachers and their students by providing engaging resources and games that save time and deliver results.

Our Origin Story

people

Teach This began in 2007, with our website going live in October of that year. What started as a small catalogue of products quickly grew, expanding to several hundred resources within the first year. Over the years, we've continued to evolve, always striving to provide the best for our community of educators.

I'm Trish, the founder of Teach This. With degrees in both Commerce and Primary Education, I've always been passionate about developing curriculum-based resources that support and inspire learners of all abilities. My teaching experience spans mainstream classrooms and working with students who have various learning difficulties. This has fueled my commitment to creating resources that ensure every student can participate and thrive in learning activities.

Teach This has been a significant part of my life since its inception. I began working on it when my triplets were just 12 months old, and now that they are in university, it’s incredible to reflect on how far we’ve come. This has been a long venture, and I’m as passionate about it today as I was during that initial development phase.

A significant part of my journey has been shaped by my family. My eldest daughter, who is now in her mid-20s and has autism, has always been a source of inspiration. Watching her grow and seeing how our resources continue to support her learning reaffirms the impact of our work. Her three sisters, now in university, also played a crucial role in shaping Teach This, testing many products throughout their schooling and providing honest feedback along the way. Their unique journeys remind me daily of the importance of nurturing diverse talents and interests while recognising and catering to the individual learning styles of students.

At Teach This, we're committed to providing outstanding educational experiences. Whether you're a teacher looking for engaging resources or a parent supporting your child's learning journey, we're here to help. We’re especially grateful to those long-time members who have been with us throughout this journey, and we thank you for being a part of our story. Together, we're making a positive impact, and we look forward to continuing this journey with you.

Our Core Beliefs

Love of Learning

Learning is a lifelong endeavour, and it is crucial that we instil a love of learning in students at a young age. We’re all about bringing curriculum content to life, bringing smiles to students’ faces as they learn, and showing them that learning really can be fun.

Work is Fun

As a teacher, much of the enjoyment of the job can seem to be drained away with planning, assessment and paperwork. We work hard to find ways to reduce your time spent planning and assessing student work, so you can get back to your passion: teaching.

Passion

We are obsessed with creating educational content that brings classrooms to life, encourages social interaction and puts smiles on students’ faces. Along with a vivid social environment through which to learn, this is what we believe school is all about.

Quality

We constantly work with the Australian Curriculum to ensure all new content is perfectly linked to the required learning outcomes. As we believe students deserve the most effective resources and engaging classroom experiences, we deliver the highest quality games and resources.

Purposeful Creation

We foster a passion for creativity, where we toss ideas about, weighing up the effectiveness of any material before it ever reaches classrooms. The challenge, however, is not to create simply for the sake of creating and bombarding busy teachers with unnecessary content. There must always be a clear and necessary purpose.

Simplify

We’ve learnt to break concepts down to their simplest form, allowing all students to participate successfully in lessons whilst building self-confidence. We embrace the opportunity to support students with special needs through the principle of simplicity. Our goal is always to find ways to make concepts, processes and procedures simpler for both student and facilitator.

Inspire

We don’t aim to give your students all the answers. We aim to inspire them to want to know more about those topics that spark an interest, and to know how to keep moving forward with their quest to learn more.
