During circle time, place the cards in the centre of the circle and challenge students to pick up a card and say three words that begin with that letter. Extend students by asking them to name a word that ends with that letter.
Use the cards as writing prompts. Select a letter of the alphabet and ask students to plan a narrative around the picture on that letter card or on a word that begins with the same letter.
Choose a letter of the day. Explore words that begin with that letter and identify the phonemes used in each of the words.
Choose a letter of the day and explore the different sounds that letter can make, e.g. a as in 'cat' or a as in 'swan', a as in 'ball', a as in 'banana', a as in 'zebra', a as in 'apron'
EXTENSIONS
