This series of worksheets encourages students decode and blend a series of words, containing long vowels. Each worksheet focuses on a specific long vowel sound and asks students to read the words as fast as they can. The worksheet is designed to be revisited, with students increasing their fluency and time in subsequent reads.
Teachers can use the sheets as a formative assessment tool, to send home as revision or to identify areas of need in students' phonological awareness. This resource is part of the unit of work for Year 2- Blending and Segmenting.
