This Poetry unit provides a great introduction to early years poetry. The unit will take you through examples of a Haiku, Shape, Acrostic, Tanka, Cinquain and Limerick poems, demonstrating the structure as well as providing opportunities to create your own. The unit also provides numerous worksheets for each poem to practise the skill of writing each style of poem as well as an Australian Curriculum aligned assessment to test knowledge and understanding at the conclusion of the unit.
