FANBOYS and WABBITS Conjunctions Board Game
View Curriculum Codes
Description

This board game is a great way for students to use coordinating and subordinating conjunctions to create compound and complex sentences.

Students roll a die and create a sentence that is connected with the conjunction they land on.

If they can create an embedded clause, students may move forward one extra space on the game board.

Great for reinforcing conjunctions mnemonics such as:

  • FANBOYS -  for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so
  • I SAW A WABUB - if, since, as, when, although, while, after, before, until, because
  • WABBITS - when, after, because, before, if, though, since

Use as a small group or literacy rotations activity.

Suitable for
  • Fast Finishers
  • Relief Teachers
