'Mad Middle Vowel' requires students to identify the vowel in the CVC word. They are required to look at the image, identify the word it represents and name the vowel. We recommend starting with 'Monkeys in the Middle' before playing this game and then finally progressing to 'Medial Vowel Machine'.

Modifications

We recommend starting to identify the vowel in CVC words by playing, 'Monkeys in the Middle', before progressing to 'Mad Middle Vowel'.

EXTENSIONS

Once students are confidently identifying the vowel in 'Mad Middle Vowel', they can progress to 'Medial Vowel Machine', where they will be replacing the vowel to create a new CVC word.
