Description

This unit plan has been created to support the teaching and learning of measurement.

The unit focuses on familiarising students with metric units and their applications in everyday situations. It covers topics such as identifying appropriate metric units for common items, making estimates, measuring and comparing objects using standard metric units, and using units with scaled markings.

The unit contains a step-by-step presentation, posters, worksheets, activities, games and a quiz. At the completion of the unit, an assessment has been included to monitor student understanding. With everything you need to arm students with practical skills for measurement and estimation in the metric system, this is the perfect unit for your Year 3 classroom.
