This unit is based on the Year 4 Australian Curriculum HASS Inquiry Skills, Knowledge and Understandings for History. Students will explore the diversity of First Nations Australians, their social organisation and their continuous connection to Country / Place. They will explore the connection of First Nations Australians to the land and water as well as how they manage these resources including food, tools and shelter. Students will explore the concept of totems, stories and artwork and their significance in maintaining connection to the land, culture and identity.
