This unit is based on the Year 5 Australian Curriculum HASS Inquiry Skills, Knowledge and Understandings. In this unit students will investigate the influence of people on the characteristics of a place. They will also explore positive and negative impacts of these influences. They then examine the management of Australian environments, including the prevention and preparation for severe weather events, such as bushfires, floods, droughts and cyclones, as well as their consequences.
