A Very Hungry Headband

A Very Hungry Headband
Description

In this activity, students create an adorable Very Hungry Caterpillar headband. To do this they will need to follow a simple set of directions, as well as use their best cutting and colouring.

This activity was created as a part of Teach This’ Very Hungry Caterpillar unit. It is designed to help you bring an exciting range of cross-curricular activities into your classroom to go along with this classic story book. In the unit students will sequence the story, assemble sentences, count their way through fruit, make healthy eating decisions and learn a little bit about how hungry caterpillars turn into beautiful butterflies.

If you do not have red or green paper available, photocopy both stencils on white paper and let your students' colour, paint of collage their headbands. Eric Carle’s beautiful illustrations were made from a tissue paper collage, why not try and replicate a similar effect?
