Description

This resource has been created to support the Year 3 Unit of Work- Significant Events, Symbols and Emblems. This worksheet supports the first lesson of this unit which explores what a significant event is and the differences between celebrations and commemorations. The worksheet asks students to identify significant events occurring annually in Australia. They are then required to cut them out and paste them in the month they occur.

Differentiation

EXTENSIONS

Students can colour code whether the calendar events they added were examples of celebrations or commemorations. Have them shade commemorations a cool colour and celebrations a warm colour.

Students can research the specific dates that these events occur and record on their calendars.
