End of Year Reflection Lesson for Foundation to Year 2: My Year in Review
My Year in Review is an end of year reflection lesson for Foundation to Year 2 from Teach This, aligned to the Australian Curriculum. The 14-slide PowerPoint guides students to look back on their year, celebrate their growth, share a special memory and think about what comes next. Slides include Let's Jog Our Memories, My Favourite Memories, Then and Now, I Did It, A Challenge I Overcame, All About Me, My Year, My People, Looking Forward and A Message for Next Year. Each slide has simple sentence starters, such as I learnt, I was brave when and I am proud that, so young writers can share their ideas in their own words.
Teachers can work through the lesson in one session or spread it across the last week of term. It suits a whole-class discussion, a reflective writing task or an end of year keepsake, and it saves planning time in the busiest weeks of the year.

Modifications
Let students draw their answers and dictate a sentence to an adult or buddy. Choose three or four slides rather than the full lesson for students who tire quickly.
Extensions
Ask students to add a reason or example to each sentence starter, such as I am proud that I can read because I practised every night. Have students turn their reflections into a short speech to share with a buddy class.
