Feelings and Emotions Game for Foundation to Year 4: How Does Bunny Feel?

Feelings and Emotions Game for Foundation to Year 4: How Does Bunny Feel?

How Does Bunny Feel? is a feelings and emotions game for Foundation to Year 4 by Teach This, an interactive whiteboard game aligned to the Australian Curriculum for Health and Physical Education. Students identify and name emotions and practise respectful, kind responses. There are two levels, Foundation to Year 2 and Years 3 and 4, with 18 everyday moments in each. Every moment has four steps: the moment, the feeling, what could I do, and the best choice. Students point to one of nine Bunny faces during a 30-second think timer, then vote for Help, Give space or Kind words. Nothing is typed or saved. It opens in Microsoft PowerPoint on any interactive whiteboard, panel or projector, with no macros, no student logins and no student data collected.

Tap any egg to open a moment, so a session can be one moment at morning circle or ten in a Health lesson. The Kind words slide can stay up all day.

Differentiation

Modifications

Start with the Meet the feelings slide and practise making each face before playing a moment. Give students a printed strip of the nine Bunny faces to point to, and accept pointing instead of a spoken answer.

Extensions

Ask Years 3 and 4 students to write their own Bunny moment with a feeling, three choices and a best choice for the class to play. Have students explain why the other two choices would not help as much as the best choice.
