In 'Munching Monsters', players will segment blends at the beginning of given words, deleting initial sounds to form a new word.
Play 'Letter Munch Game', a matching game where students will read the word, remove the initial phoneme and then find the new word on the game board.
Move on to play 'Pancake Pieces', where students combine beginning and end blends to form words. Students can create a list of real words and nonsense words that they create. Alternatively, play 'Onset and Rime Word Trains', where students will create a word from elkonin boxes.
