Paraphrasing to Clarify Meaning - Presentation
This presentation explicitly teaches the comprehension strategy Paraphrasing to Clarify Meaning for Year 5 students. Through clear explanations, structured steps and side-by-side fiction and non-fiction examples, students learn how to restate ideas in their own words while maintaining the original meaning. The slides clearly distinguish paraphrasing from copying and summarising, model strong and weak paraphrases and show how paraphrasing can be used to clarify complex or confusing sentences. The presentation is designed to support whole-class instruction, teacher modelling and guided discussion across the unit.
