Haunted House Countdown - Halloween Week Interactive Game (Foundation to Year 6)

Haunted House Countdown - Halloween Week Interactive Game (Foundation to Year 6)

A Halloween interactive whiteboard game for Foundation to Year 6, with a new five-minute room to escape each day from Monday to Friday. Each room has three levels (Foundation to Year 2, Years 3 and 4, and Years 5 and 6) and five questions on a one-minute ghost timer. Monday is spooky maths, Tuesday is spelling, Wednesday is riddles, Thursday is patterns, shapes and measuring, and Friday is a monster word scramble. Students write their answers on mini whiteboards, then the teacher reveals the answer and moves on. It opens straight into play mode, with no prep, printing or cutting, and the whole class escapes the haunted house together by Friday afternoon. Use it as a morning warm-up, a brain break or a fast finisher challenge in the lead-up to Halloween.

Play one room each morning, Monday to Friday of Halloween week, as a warm-up or brain break. It also suits fast finishers, relief days and the Friday celebration before Halloween on Saturday night.

Differentiation

Modifications

Read the questions aloud, use the lower level, and let students answer with a partner.

Extensions

Students write their own Halloween riddle or word scramble for the class to solve, or try the next level up.
